The city was incorporated well after its neighbours and built almost entirely as suburbia, so the housing is split between the earlier ranches, split-levels and split-entries near 84th Street and Harrison and the newer townhomes and apartments around the City Centre redevelopment.
The practical consequence is that a whole generation of houses is hitting the same maintenance wall together.
